Have you prayed about it as much as you have talked about it?
When we are faced with problems
in our lives, we tend to speak about it to our loved ones and friends. But what
we often forget to do is to pray about these problems we face. I read this
quote somewhere online ‘Have you prayed about it as much as you have spoken
about it?’ This question really opened by eyes. There has been several
instances where I felt I have got an epiphany. Like these lines were written
for me. I asked myself have I prayed about the issues I am facing on a day to
day basis no matter how small or petty it seem. I analyze them and try to come up
with a solution myself but I forget that I need to pray about these things I want
to change in myself and in my life.
We all have the right tools and
still we forget at times that we have our Father in heaven to ask for guidance
and make decisions. Let us make it a habit to ask God for his advice rather
than talk about it too much. Often we feel the need to talk about our problems
and that is fine. But talking about it alone isn’t going to help. We need to bow
down our heads in front of our Lord and ask him how we can overcome this
obstacle in front of us.
We can see that Jesus; whenever
he was faced with trials and temptations he would kneel down in prayer. He knew
it wouldn’t be easy to overcome the cross. He would pray with his disciples
about it in the Garden of Gethsemane as we read in the gospel. Let us also pray
in silence than make a huge cry about our problems.
